Korean Air Prestige Lounge

We had about 9 hours of transit time in Seoul Incheon Airport but did not want to go out so we decided to stay in the lounge. I have previously visited the Korean Air Prestige Lounge East-Right last year so we decided to try the newly opened left side. It has 3 special features: ramyun library where you can choose and create your own ramen, an arcade for the gamers and a chocolate making studio called L'atelier which is for kids.

Just before we went to the boarding gate, I decided to have a look at the Prestige Lounge East-Right and from the last time I was here, nothing has changed.

Boarding, Gate 241

It was a long walk to the boarding gate (Gate 241) so we left at 5:40pm, about 35 minutes before the scheduled boarding time. At exactly 6:15pm, boarding began with business class passengers and those with status getting priority boarding.

Aircraft, Boeing 777 (HL-8042)

This 9-year old Boeing 777 will fly us to Cebu tonight.

Business Class Cabin


The business class cabin has a total of 42 seats in business class. There are 8 first class seats and a smaller business cabin behind it. In economy class, there are a total of 227 seats. The business seats reminded me of the seats on the British Airways flight I took from Cairo to London in 2018 albeit Korean Air is much better.

Seat 14J

The only remaining window seat when I decided to choose one a few days before my flight was 14J which was designated as pet friendly. 

A nice pillow was already at the seat as well as a blanket (still in plastic wrapping).

The film selection was good but it could be better. From the movie selection, I ended up watching "The Proposal".

There is also a privacy divider which the flight attendant raised before my seatmate came 👍

I was also asked if I needed an eye mask and earplugs, which I gladly requested and took.

At 6:40pm, one of the flight attendants came to offer some drinks and snack pretzels. They had sparkling wine, water or orange juice.

I had a glass of apple juice with my pretzels.

Wifi

Wifi was not free and the price range is from 4.95USD to 13.95USD.

Pushback & Take Off

At 6:56pm, the safety video was shown on the screen. Pushback began at 7:02pm and 20 minutes later, we were airborne.

Moments after the seatbelt sign was turned off, hot towels were offered.

Amuse Bouche 

The lemon pacca cotta with crab was very good. For drinks, I had a glass of apple juice.

The blanched green asparagus salad was very good even without using the dressing I received.

The choices for main course onboard were roasted chicken, roasted beef or garlic shrimp. 

I had pre-ordered my meal on line and got it which was shrimp gambas with sauteed vegetables. It was very good 😋

To end the meal, sliced fruits were served which I matched with a cup of Chamomile tea.

Landing in Mactan Cebu Airport (CEB)

We landed in Cebu at 10:05pm, 15 minutes ahead of schedule.

CONCLUSION

I flew the same class on the reverse a few months ago from Cebu to Seoul so I knew more or less what to expect on this flight. The crew were fantastic as always and the meal from amuse bouche to dessert was very good. The seat that turns into a fully flat bed was lovely. Overall, a great flight which I would gladly take again in the future.
