Hotel Exterior
From the moment we entered the hotel compound, we were welcomed by the modern and elegant design typical of luxurious hotels. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and shared the enthusiasm I´ve never seen before. For reference, there are 3 buildings/towers: the North Tower is where the reception, lobby, Gingerfire Restaurant and Executive Lounge are located. To the right of the lobby is the West Tower where the Italian restaurant Trattoria Mare and the adult pool are located. Then the East Tower to the left of the lobby is where our room 3305 is located. It is also closer to the Kid´s Club and Kid´s pool.

The hotel provided us a tour of the hotel with a buggy ride which was appreciated as the property is huge 👍
Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort king deluxe room
There were USB A and C ports by the bedside table which we really appreciated as not so many hotels offer them.
There was also an LG smart TV with YouTube and more than 30 channels.
2 more bottles of water in the mini fridge (complimentary) and minibar
Waterproof safe 👍
Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort beach slippers and room slippers.

King Deluxe Room with Balcony, 3305
Since the hotel was just on it´s 4th day of soft opening, not all the rooms were available, which meant no suite upgrade for us. Hopefully in the future 😉 We were still glad to have been upgraded to a deluxe room with balcony.
Mike was celebrating his 77th birthday during our stay and with short notice, the hotel made sure that Mike´s birthday would be a memorable one. The bed decorations and the cakes, etc. were lovely. Thank you so much 🙏

I had the Yangzhou style wok fried rice from the menu and it tasted very good 👍 Since Hilton members get 25% discount while dining, the price went down from 48 MYR to 36 MYR.

CONCLUSION
It was by chance that we booked the Hilton Burau Bay as we were already booked at the Mercure Hotel for 3 nights. I was checking out the opening day of the hotel at the Hilton website when I saw that they were already opened from May 1. I thought we needed to check out the hotel itself and decided to book at least one night during our 3 night stay at the Mercure Langkawi. It was very much worth it. The hotel was on its 4th day of soft opening when we stayed so not all the rooms were available yet. It meant no suite upgrade for us but the room we got with garden views was really nice. The location of the hotel is about 10-15 minutes by car from the airport. The Ritz Carlton, The Danna Langkawi and Berjaya Hotel were all in the same area as the Hilton Burau Bay so you would expect that this is a very exclusive part of the island. The rooms are modern and well-appointed as expected and had all the birthday decorations (Mike was celebrating his birthday that day). They had both USB-A and C ports beside the bed, and aside from the room slippers, they also had beach slippers. The hotel amenities were impressive: three pools where one is for kids and the other for adults only. The private beach was beautiful and having only a handful other guests to share it with, it felt really private. The fitness center was huge and aside from the usual water and fruits available, they also had some cookies 👍 The Eforea Spa, rock pool, sauna and cooking pavilion were all great amenities. There were only 2 restaurants open at the moment, the Gingerfire where breakfast was served and the Italian restaurant Trattoria Mare. I had dinner at the Gingerfire and the food was very good. The executive lounge on the 6th floor was scheduled to open by the end of the month so they had a temporary set up in the breakfast restaurant. Both the afternoon tea and evening cocktails had very good offerings. Lastly, the staff were just incredible.
The hotel is very new and still has some room for improvement but it has a great potential and as loyal Hilton members, we will definitely be back again. To all the staff of Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort, thank you and see you again soon!
