SAS Bid Upgrade

The minimum bid per person for the Rome-Stockholm flight was 350 SEK. I thought I´d bid 375 SEK and one day before the flight, got an email confirmation that we won the bid. We already have Star Alliance gold benefits (extra check-in bags, fast track and priority boarding) so the only thing we paid for the 375 SEK was the meal on board ๐Ÿ‘

Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) Check-in

The SAS check-in desks being used were desks 116-125. Using our Star Alliance gold status, we used the priority desk and were done within a few minutes.

Fast Track

As expected, there was fast track which was very helpful as it was quite busy in the general security.

This kit had a good price which Mike could not resist ๐Ÿ‘

Take Off

Around 11:45am, we were airborne.

Meal

On this flight, they had roast beef with potato salad. For drinks, I asked for apple juice.

Mike had some Ramlรถsa (water with gas).

And a small bottle of Cava ๐Ÿ‘

We also asked for some muffins to go with the coffee.

Lastly, the SAS pralines were offered ๐Ÿ‘

Lavatory

There was a long queue in the SAS Plus lavatory so I went to the one at the back.

Landing in Stockholm Arlanda Airport

Around 2:12pm, the captain gave us some updated flight informations and that we would be landing in 15 minutes. We landed at 2:27pm and reached our gate 14 minutes later.

CONCLUSION

I´ve won upgrade bids in the past including the Royal Jordanian business class from Istanbul to Amman for 75USDMalaysia Airlines business class from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok for 538 MYR and Iberia business class from Madrid to Stockholm for 633 SEK. I thought this SAS Plus bid for upgrade was a good price. As we already have all the other benefits for being Star Alliance gold members, the price we paid was basically for the meal on board which we thought was good. The crew were friendly so overall, it was a nice flight.
