Check-in

During check-in, we got a welcome drink consisting of lemon grass drink.

King Deluxe Park View Room, 1411

Room entrance

King bed with sofa

The housekeeping staff has already done the turn-down service when we checked-in so the slippers are already by the bed.

On one side of the bed are the phones and alarm clock. Both sides have a glass and water in tetra pak.

There is also a flashlight in one of the drawers.

TV

On the table is a welcome amenity, a card, a cake and the Waldorf Astoria mascot - an elephant dressed in Muay Thai costume!

Thanks so much guys for the cake!!

Minibar

Nespresso capsules (6 pieces) and 4 kinds of tea by a Thai company called Chaidim.

Mini bar including two complimentary coconut juice 👍

As usual, there was a safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and a Waldorf Astoria paper bag.

There is also a Waldorf Astoria umbrella you can use during your stay.

Inside the closet are 2 bathrobes.

The bathroom had double sink and Aesop bath amenities which reminded me of the Cathay Pacific First Class Lounges before they switched to another brand.

To the right of the sink is an in-mirror TV.

There is also a digital scale.

A nice bathtub 😉

The walk-in shower had both hand-held shower and rain shower. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were from Aesop.

The washlet is heated and is one of my favorite features of the room.

CONCLUSION

The Waldorf Astoria Bangkok is the first Waldorf Astoria in South East Asia having opened in August 2018. Having stayed in at least six Waldorf Astoria hotels in the past and enjoying it a lot, we knew that our stay here will be no different. This is a truly luxurious hotel (beside is the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok) occupying 10 floors of rooms and suites. The open air pool is very iconic although the infinity pool of Marina Bay Sands is still our all time favorite. The room was big enough and had all the things we needed. The fresh coconut juice was impressive as well as the cake for our anniversary celebration. The elephant mascot was lovely and will surely be added to my stuffed toy collection. Breakfast offering was one of the best as it included Iberico ham (we had it at Gran Hotel Miramar breakfast in the past) and the truffle egg which is no doubt the best egg we have ever tasted. It was a very short stay as we came late in the evening and had to leave after breakfast before 9am to go to the airport but we really had a memorable stay and would gladly be back here again. To all the staff of Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, Kop Khun Krap!!
