Cebu & Expo 2020 Flying Emirates First & Business Class
Traveling during the pandemic is not easy (in regards to flying) as there are lots of documents needed to present at the airport during check-in. Specifically for my flight to Cebu, As an ROF-Returning Overseas Filipino (and not an OFW which has a different requirement), I had to have a confirmed booking of 10 days in Cebu (you have to book an accredited DOH quarantine hotel) and a health declaration form with QR code, both of which have to presented when you check-in for your flight at the airport. The OneHealthPass was required when pre-boarding in Dubai Airport (I was transitting in Dubai) but it turned out this requirement was not yet official. Face shields were being offered during pre-boarding as passengers are required to wear both a face mask and a face shield upon disembarking in Cebu Airport. On the flight, passengers were given 3 forms to fill up: Health declaration card, Immigration card and one for the Bureau of customs. Upon disembarking, we were directed to a seating area where the officials from the Bureau of Quarantine gave a short briefing. Then, we proceed to document validation of QR code, passport, boarding pass, health declaration form and hotel booking confirmation. I have dual citizenship but I used my Philippine passport this time since it will be easier for immigration, and I was also able to save 901 Pesos as the swab test is free for all Filipinos. Next steps are temperature scan, immigration clearance and swab test. It is only in Cebu Airport that they do 2 swab tests, first upon arrival and second on 7th day (which is the only one required by the IATF in all other airports). After my swab test, I went directly to the waiting area as I did not have any checked in luggage to collect. The airport staff informed me as soon as the representative from Savoy Mactan has arrived and then I proceeded to Customs clearance and then off to the hotel.
