SAS business class, Copenhagen to Malaga

Winter trip flying Saudia and SAS Business Class

Boarding, Gate A22

I left the lounge around 2pm for the 2:55pm departure. The boarding gate is far from the lounge so it took me more than 10 minutes to reach it.

Aircraft, Airbus A320 (EI-SIZ) Garm Viking

Today, we are flying with a 3-year old Airbus A320 neo.

Business Class Cabin

The business class cabin has a total of 8 seats from rows 1 to 2 in a 2-2 configuration. On this flight, all 8 seats were occupied.

Seat 2F

The middle seats are blocked in European business class.

Seat 2F is a window seat.

The legroom is okay for me. There are no personal screens here and sadly, the wifi was not working (or wifi was not installed).

Pushback & Take Off

We began pushback at 2:45pm but returned to the gate at 3:05pm due to a family having a medical incident. The checked-in luggages had to be removed first which took sometime. Pushback again at 3:55pm and around 4:04pm, we were airborne.

Dining

Minutes after the seatbelt sign was off, some cashew nuts and drinks were offered. I had the apple must for drinks.

For lunch, they had cabbage and lentil salad, spinach tortelloni and opera cake.

Everything was served in a tray. The tortelloni was very good 😋

At the back of the menu card is the QR code for the drinks list.

The champagne onboard was the usual Charles Heidsieck.

Massolino Barbera d'Alba red wine

Joseph Drouhin Chardonnay

Cognac Bache-Gabrielsen

Champagne and chardonnay

Red wine and beer

Beers, spirits and liqueurs

Cognac, cocktails

Vodka, cocktails and mocktails

They only had regular black tea so I ordered the Hugo Zero mocktail instead plus a muffin (I did not eat the opera cake).

At 6:30pm, cinammon buns (kanelbullar) were offered. It was really good 👍

I also asked for a bottle of water before landing.

Lavatory

The lavatory did not have water to wash the hands so they provided some wet wipes instead.

Landing in Malaga Airport

We landed in Malaga Airport at 7:24pm, about 30 minutes behind schedule and reached our gate 6 minutes later.

CONCLUSION

I remember taking the same flight last October 1 last year which was the premier for SAS European business class. It was pretty much the same service and food and drinks offering which I thought was very good. Sadly, there was no wifi and the lavatory did not have water so they provided wet wipes instead. Overall, with a friendly crew and tasty meal, it was a still a nice flight.
