Last week, Mike and I traveled to Uzbekistan where we spent 2 nights in the capital city of Tashkent, and a night in the marvelous city of Samarkand. I've seen beautiful photos of the impressive Islamic architecture in Samarkand only on the internet and to see them in person was just surreal. We were only able to see the Chorsu Bazaar and the Hazrati Imam Complex while in Samarkand, we were able to do a city tour visiting 5 attractions including the majestic Registan Square at night when all the lights are lit up. We were also able to take the Afrosiyob train in business from Tashkent to Samarkand which we thought was cool. In case you are traveling to Uzbekistan, here are some of my travel tips!
Tashkent
Hazrati Imam Complex
Tashkent Train Station
Samarkand
Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis: this is a cemetery site with beautiful, ornately-decorated tombs.
