Saudia Al Fursan Lounge, Jeddah International Airport

After landing in Jeddah Airport, I headed directly to the Al Fursan Lounge. Everything was almost the same from my last visit one year ago when I did the SAS Eurobonus challenge to win 1 million points. Sadly, the avocado smoothie is now exclusive to the first class lounge. I left the lounge early as the boarding gate was a bit of a walk from the lounge.

Boarding, Gate A21b

Boarding Gate A21b

Boarding began an hour before scheduled departure, with zone 1 and 2 passengers being called to board first.

Aircraft, A321 (HZ-ASP)

The aircraft flying us to Dubai tonight is quite dated, almost 14 years old.

Business Class Cabin

The business class cabin on this A321 consisted of 20 seats from rows 1 to 5.

Seat map (the cabin is in a 2-2 configuration). On this flight, 16 of the 20 seats were occupied.

Seat 5A

My seat 5A is a window seat.

Already waiting at my seat is a blanket ...

and a pillow.

There was also a bottle of mineral water.

Safety card, air-sickness bag, headphones

The headphones was Saudia branded.

As expected, legroom was spacious.

On the side of the left armrest are the seat controls.

Headphone socket, IFE controller

Foldable tray table

AC power outlet

Pre-departure Beverage

Moments after settling, the friendly flight attendant from Indonesia came to offer some towels.

I was also offered some drinks and asked for the signature dates and banana smoothie which I have to admit I am beginning to love 👍 The other choices were orange juice and lemon mint drink.

As expected on this flight, the Saudi coffee and dates were offered.

Dates and Saudi coffee.

Push back & Take Off

We pushed back at 5:47pm and took off 11 minutes later.

Entertainment & Wifi

Located under the right armrest is the personal screen.

I ended up watching the continuation of "Megan 2.0".

Sadly, there was no wifi onboard.

Dining

Menu card

Menu card

To start the dinner service, we were offered some mixed nuts.

For my drinks, I opted for the sparkling RossiNo (non-alcoholic).

The whole meal was served on a tray. I chose the braised beef which was very good served with mashed potatoes. The meal included bread, salad, hummus and moutabel duo and pistachio labaniya. Everything tasted great.

To end the service, I had a cup of green tea served with Patchi chocolates.

Towel was also offered.

Lavatory

There is one lavatory located in front of the cabin. It had a Saudia branded lotion.

Landing in Dubai Airport Terminal 1

We landed in Dubai at 9:30pm (just a slight delay) even if we departed late in Jedddah. We parked in a remote stand which is not usual in Dubai in my experience.

CONCLUSION

This is my second time flying in Saudia business class, the first one being the flight prior from Casablanca to Jeddah. Just like the earlier and longer flight, this was overall a very good one. The crew were fantastic and the meal served in business class was very good. Again, as a non-drinker, Saudia being a dry airline does not bother me. I wished they had wifi though but considering that the aircraft was old, it was okay. I know they have newer A321 neos which have more modern seats and perhaps wifi too. Overall, a very nice flight. To all the crew on this flight, Shukran!
