Qatar Airways B777 business class, Doha to Bangkok

 Continuing on with our trip, it was time to fly from Doha to Bangkok on the Boeing 777. It has been a few years since I have flown on the Boeing as the last ones I´ve flown with were either on the A350 or B787 so I was excited to compare it again.

Clearing security went quickly and minutes later, we were on our way to the Al Mourjan Lounge.

We had about more than 2 hours before our connecting flight to Bangkok and decided to take a shower first. There was a wait of about 20 minutes but it was worth it 😉

Boarding, Gate C8

We left the lounge around 7:30am and on the way to the boarding gate passed by this Heuer car 👍

As usual, there was a separate line for premium passengers and those with status for passport control. Boarding was scheduled at 7:50 although it did not start until 8:02am.

Business Class Cabin

This is the main business class cabin fro rows 1-4.
The business class cabin on this Boeing 777 had 2 sections, the main one from rows 1-4 with 24 seats and the smaller one behind the galley from rows 5-7 with 18 seats, for a total of 36 seats in a 2-2-2 configuration.

My seat is in the smaller business class cabin. Already waiting at my seat are the blanket, pillow , headphones and Brics amenity kit.

These older seats has some disadvantages including not being able to watch a movie right after take off as the personal screen had to be stowed after playing the Safety Video.

I was not able to finish watching "Parasite" so I watched the whole film till the end this time.

I also watched "Ad Astra" although just a bit of it.

Then, I switched to "The Angry Birds Movie 2".

Under the cocktail table is a storage with Evian mineral water.

Brics Amenity Kit

The Brics amenity kit had the usual Monte Vibiano Vechhio face cream and facial mist plus the ear plug, eye shades and socks.

Pre-departure Beverage

Moments after settling in, the flight attendant taking care of our aisle came to present himself and took our pre-departure beverage order as well as our choice of towel.

Pushback

At 8:22am, the captain came on the PA to welcome us onboard and to give us some flight information including our flight time of 5 hours and 40 minutes.

At 8:36am, the safety video was played and 4 minutes later, we began our pushback. At 9:03, we took off 😉

I pre-ordered my main course on line and chose the Seabass Congee. After being presented the menu card, I decided to have the beef from the light options as my main course instead and have the congee as the meal before landing.

Mike on the other hand had the Emmental and Spring onion Omelette 😋

And some fruits.

Hot towel, mints and green tea.

I had to ask for some Godiva chocolates as they were not proactively offered. Overall, the meal was very good 👍

Lavatory

There is a total of 4 lavatories in the cabin.

As usual, they had the Rituals hand cream and spray.

There were also dental kits and shaving kits.

In front of the lavatory between the main cabin and the smaller cabin is the Qatar Airways logo.

Light Options

With about 1 hour and 55 minutes left to Bangkok, the flight attendant offered something to drink and I asked for a cup of Sencha tea which was served with some cookies.

Then, it was time for my Seabass Congee which was fantastic 👍

With an hour left before landing, immigration forms were distributed.

We had access to fast track which was great as the economy class passengers line was long. They used to give fast track card upon deplaning but not, your boarding pass is enough.

Unfortunately, most of the business class passengers´ luggage came after those of economy class passengers, at least some of them.

CONCLUSION

There it was, another great flight in Qatar Airways business class. The crew was fantastic, the meal tasted great and the seats were comfortable. It may not be the newest business class seat but for  day flight, it was okay for me. Overall, a very enjoyable flight and would not hesitate recommending it to others.
