CONCLUSION
We recently spent a night in Samarkand and even though there is a Hilton hotel in the city center, we thought we'd try the newly opened Hilton Samarkand Regency located in the Silk Road Samarkand complex. It was a really good decision as the room we got was modern. There was no upgrade given but we were able to check-in before 12 noon which was perfect. The executive lounge on the 2nd floor was large and had great views of the man-made canal. The all-day refreshments and happy hour offering was also very good and suitable for a proper dinner. Hotel amenities include an indoor pool and fitness center. For breakfast, we went to the main restaurant as the lounge did not offer it. The food offering was really extensive, although the bread sadly was hard. We took a taxi to Registan Square in the evening and paid about 40-50K som. There is also a fountain and light show in the evening in the complex although it is a bit far from the hotel. Overall, we really had a great stay here and would gladly stay here again when back to Samarkand.
