A few weeks ago, I was able to visit Pakistan for the first time where I stayed for two nights in the capital city of Islamabad. I had pre-booked the city tour weeks before my arrival so was confident that it would go well. I really had a nice guide who picked me up at the Islamabad Marriott Hotel and from there we started the tour. The highlight of my trip (this tour) was visiting Faisal Mosque which was built between 1976 and 1986 and is the 6th largest mosque in the world. Of course, the beautiful Pakistan Monument is never to be missed as well as a visit to the Daman-e-Koh viewing point in Margalla Hills for panoramic views of Islamabad. In case you are traveling to Islamabad, here are some of my travel tips!

Pakistan Monument, built to symbolize the unity of the Pakistani people.

International Friendship Garden, where world leaders and foreign dignitaries have planted trees since 1964. The former Philippine President Fidel Ramos was here and planted a tree as well.
