CONCLUSION
For my second night in Chisinau, I booked the Mercure Chisinau Center Jazz Hotel as I had a $50 credit on Expedia that was expiring soon. I learned from the receptionist that this hotel has just been renovated and joined the Accor hotel program last year. Location is perfect as it is in the same area as the Radisson Hotel and Bristol Hotel so the nearby Cathedral and Triumphal Arch was just walking distance. The rooms are modern although I wished it was more bright (with bigger windows for the natural light). The amenities were nice and included a business center,a fitness center and a sauna. I was not able to enjoy the buffet breakfast as I had an early morning flight but the cost is $20 per person and it is located 1 level down. The staff were all friendly. I got help calling a taxi from the hotel to the airport using the taxi app. The taxi drivers only accept Moldovan Leu. Sadly the taxi driver upon learning that I would be paying in US dollars decided to charge me more than usual and I had to pay $25 for a short ride to the airport. I should have taken some local money from the ATM instead. Overall, this is a very nice hotel with central location, nice room and friendly staff.
