Stockholm Arlanda Airport Terminal 5

SAS check-in desks

We arrived at Stockholm Arlanda Airport Terminal 5 at 11:12am for the 1:45pm departure. We only have hand carry so I just printed my boarding pass from one of the check-in kiosks and then we headed straight to security check.

Fast Track

It is always nice to have access to Fast Track. Also, Arlanda Airport has a modern security system where laptops and liquids stay inside the bag, making the process much quicker compared to other European airports.

SAS Lounges

First, we visited the SAS Lounge by Mastercard which is located near the F gates, behind the passport control.

Before 12 noon, we then moved to the SAS Gold Lounge near the E gates where our flight was departing. The Business Lounge was actually closed so it was quite busy in the Gold Lounge.

Aircraft, Airbus A320 (OY-KAR)

This 18-year old Airbus A320 (which flew for IndiGo previously) will fly us today from Stockholm to Copenhagen.

Boarding, Gate E10

Boarding began at 1:14pm starting with passengers with status and those flying in SAS Plus.

SAS Plus Cabin

The SAS Plus cabin is in a 3-3 configuration from rows 1 to 5, with a total of 30 seats. On this flight, 21 of the seats were occupied.

Seat, 4A

Legroom was okay for me.

Seat pocket

Menu card, wifi card, safety instruction card, air-sickness bag

Take Off

We pushed back at 1:42pm and at 1:50pm, we were airborne.

Dining

Menu card

Menu card

At 2:07pm, we were served our complimentary snacks. Mike chose the potato chips and water with gas while I had the protein bar with apple juice. For a short flight like this (and after having some food in the lounge), the snacks are just perfect 👍

Lavatory

There is one lavatory located in front of the cabin.

Landing in Copenhagen Kastrup Airport

We landed in Copenhagen Airport at 2:42pm which is 13 minutes ahead of schedule, and parked at Gate B6.

CONCLUSION

This was another nice flight flying SAS Plus between Stockholm and Copenhagen. SAS will start offering real Business class service within Europe from October 1 so it will be exciting to see the changes. The middle seats will be left vacant and then there is the proper meal service. On this flight, the middle seat was vacant so we got lucky. The crew on this flight were also friendly. Overall, flying SAS Plus intra-Europe is okay but I am looking forward to the real business class service from October 1 😉
