Trip to Singapore, Vietnam & Hong Kong on Qatar Airways Qsuite
It´s time again to qualify for British Airways Gold status and with this first trip to Asia flying on Qatar Airways, I will get 560 tier points. This trip is an open jaw, flying from Oslo to Singapore and back from Hong Kong to Stockholm, booking flights on Scoot, Vietjet and Jetstar to fly us within Asia. With my second trip (to Singapore in August) and my third trip (to Bangkok in December granting Qatar Airways stays with OneWorld), I will get more than 1500 tier points which is more than enough to get OneWorld emerald status again. Also during this trip, we stayed at 8 different Hilton properties making my total stay to 19, and closer to the 30 stays needed to renew my Hilton Diamond status.

Exploring Hong Kong
After our stay in Vietnam visiting Saigon, Da Nang and Hanoi, it was time to spend two nights in Hong Kong, one of our favorite cities.
On our first night, we stayed at the Conrad Hong Kong where we got upgraded to one of their Executive Peak Suites 😍
Our stay was a day after my 45th birthday, and from the hotel I got a birthday cake. Thanks so much guys 😍
On our second night, we stayed at the other Hilton property in Hong Kong which is the Hilton Garden Inn Mongkok. I´ve stayed here before when the hotel was just a few months old and liked it. On this stay, we were given a drinks and meal voucher which I believe is a new benefit of a Diamond member 👍
These dumplings are to die for 😋😋
Below are some of the places we visited during our two night stay in Hong Kong:
Tim Ho Wan, the cheapest Michelin star restaurant in the world. The line was really long this time and since we were starving, we decided to look for another restaurant to have lunch.
Hong Kong Tramways. We just took pictures as we have already experienced it before.
The Clock Tower
Bank of China Tower
Symphony of Lights. We have been to Hong Kong a lot of times but this was our first time to witness this marvelous show which is probably the best light and music show I´ve ever seen 😍👍
Check-in
Check-in kiosks Aisle E, Terminal 1 Hong Kong International Airport
We left the hotel around 2pm and arrived at the airport shortly before 3pm. Qatar Airways' check in desks are located in Aisle E of Terminal 1 and although there were check-in kiosks, they were only for ANA and EVA air passengers (if I remember it right) so we had to wait until the check-in desks opened at 3:40pm, about 3.5 hours before departure.
Check-in counters, with desks E19 and E20 reserved for business class passengers and those with status.
We were helped by a friendly agent with the check-in process who also confirmed our rear facing seats in row 5 as she showed us the seat map. Finally, we are going to experience First in Business 😍 Minutes later, we were given our boarding passes to Doha and to our connecting flight to Stockholm.

Cathay Pacific The Pier First Class Lounge
As I have Emerald status thru my British Airways gold card, we headed to my favorite first class lounge in Hong Kong, the Pier First Class Lounge. At this point we still didn´t know our departure gate so we decided we´d stay here and have a light dinner until we know it.
Appetizer
I had some pork with rice as my main course while Mike had the mussels with french fries. Both were perfect 😋
Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge
From the flight information monitor, we saw that our flight was departing from Gate 23. We then decided to visit the other first class lounge which is The Wing.

Boarding started around 6:45pm, with business class passengers and those with OneWorld status getting priority boarding.
Qsuite Cabin
Our seat is in the larger business class cabin consisting of rows 1-6. The smaller business class cabin have seats from rows 7-11. With 1-2-1 configuration, the cabin has a total of 42 seats.

Suite 5F
Welcome to my seat, 5F 😍
Seats 5E and 5F are both rear facing although they are one of those seats which turn into a double bed 👍 There´s also a privacy screen which can be lowered if you are traveling as a couple.

Double Bed
This is how the double bed looks like 😉 I did not ask for turn-down service although from other reviews I´ve read, they normally provide a mattress pad as well as another pillow.
Amenity Kit
The amenity kit featured a Brics case plus the refreshing mist, lip balm and anti-aging moisturizer from Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio and the usual socks, ear plugs and eye mask.
We were also given a pair of pyjamas from The White Company.
Minutes after settling in, a Japanese flight attendant came to introduce herself and explain the features of the Qsuite. She also took my drinks order as well as my choice of towel. I settled for a glass of apple juice which was served with a hot towel.
Safety Instruction Video
Around 7pm, the captain came on the PA to welcome us onboard and to give us the usual flight information including our flight time of 8 hours and 45 minutes. The crew also came to offer pyjamas, menu card and newspapers. A few minutes later, the safety instruction video was played on the screen.
Airshow
Airshow enroute to Doha.
At 7:10pm, we began our pushback. About 8 minutes later, the flight attendant came to take my meal order and I chose the grilled chicken breast for appetizer and the prawns for my main course. She also asked if I wanted to be woken up for the meal service before landing and I said yes. Moments later, the CSD came to welcome us onboard and to inform us of the super wifi which is free to use for one hour. Around 7:35pm, we had a smooth take off. About 12 minutes later, the flight attendants started unlocking the doors of the Qsuites.
Dining
Menu card and wine list
Menu card
From other reviews on line, a special snacks platter menu used to be offered but there was none on this flight.
Champagne 😍
The meal service started with the usual warm nuts plus a drink, with my choice being a glass of apple juice.
Moments later, the table was set up with bread, butter, salt and pepper, a glass for water and the candle which reminded me of my flights on Turkish Airlines in business class 😉
Amuse bouche
The Grilled Chicken Breast with Soba Noodles was delicious 😋
The soup was yummy according to Mike 😋
My prawns were perfect 😋
I skipped the cheese and dessert and just had a cup of green tea. A hot towel was also offered ...
... followed by a box of Godiva pralines.
Light Meal
With about 2 hours left before landing, I was offered something to eat and I opted for the dessert which I didn´t have earlier.
Fresh berries with lavender syrup and apple juice.
Lavatory
There are four lavatories in the cabin, two between rows 6 and 7, and two behind the cockpit on the left side,
Lavatory
Dental kits and shaving kits 👍
Rituals hand lotion and cologne
Lavatory
As a comparison, the lavatory near the cockpit is much smaller than the two lavatories you´d find between rows 6 and 7.

Landing in Hamad International Airport
With an hour left before landing, the CSD and the flight attendants came to thank us for flying with them. Around 10:30pm, the captain was back on the PA informing us that we would be landing in 50 minutes, with the current temperature in Doha of 20 degrees. We landed in Doha Airport at 11:21pm although we had to park in a remote stand.
Strange as it may seem, we parked in a remote stand.
Fortunately, we had a separate bus to the terminal and passport control also went smoothly as we had access to fast track 😍
CONCLUSION
There it was, our first ever flight trying the famous Qsuite 😍 With a lot of good reviews about this product, we really had high expectations, and they were all met. This is definitely First in Business and the fact that Qatar Airways is a consistent 5-star airline according to Skytrax, we just couldn´t ask for more. The service was great, the flight attendants were friendly and the food was phenomenal. And for the price we paid, it was just worth it. I am already looking forward to my next flight in Qsuite to Singapore in August and I can´t wait. To all the crew on this flight, Shukran 😍
