Trip to Singapore, Vietnam & Hong Kong on Qatar Airways Qsuite
It´s time again to qualify for British Airways Gold status and with this first trip to Asia flying on Qatar Airways, I will get 560 tier points. This trip is an open jaw, flying from Oslo to Singapore and back from Hong Kong to Stockholm, booking flights on Scoot, Vietjet and Jetstar to fly us within Asia. With my second trip (to Singapore in August) and my third trip (to Bangkok in December granting Qatar Airways stays with OneWorld), I will get more than 1500 tier points which is more than enough to get OneWorld emerald status again. Also during this trip, we stayed at 8 different Hilton properties making my total stay to 19, and closer to the 30 stays needed to renew my Hilton Diamond status.

Boarding, Gate C22
Landing late from our Oslo-Doha flight and parking in a remote stand, we took a separate bus for business class passengers to the terminal. After passing through security, we headed directly to the assigned departure gate which was C22. That is when we learned from another passenger who flew with us from Oslo and was also heading to Singapore, that we had a last minute aircraft change. Just when we thought we would finally be able to experience the famous Qsuite of Qatar Airways. Gate C22 is one of those gates which is not connected to a jet bridge which meant we had to take a bus to the aircraft.
Economy class passengers were allowed to take the bus first and after waiting for 15 minutes or so, the business class passengers were ready to go.

Cabin
This is the same aircraft type as the one we flew from Oslo so I would be concentrating more on the service and food.
Mood lighting in the cabin
Below is the seat map on the Airbus A350-1000 with Qsuite which we were supposed to take.
Seat, 3F
Interestingly, the middle seats had the same seat numbers (so Mike and I kept our seats), and only the window seats alternate between A and B.
Seat 3F
Personal screen
Magazines with Evian water
Amenity Kit
We got the same amenity kit containing Castello Monte Vibiano toiletries although the Nappa Dori pouch bag was with a zipper version.
I also got the pyjamas from The White Company and pair of slippers.
Predeparture Beverage
A lovely flight attendant from Kyoto, Japan was taking care of our side of the cabin. Around 1:40am, she took my pre-departure drink order as well as my choice of towel. I settled for a glass of apple juice and a hot towel. About 10 minutes later, the captain came on the PA to welcome us onboard and give us flight information including our flight time of 7 hours and 40 minutes. Newspapers and menu cards were also offered by the crew shortly after.
Inflight Safety Video
Around 2pm, the safety video was played and 8 minutes later, we began our pushback. At 2:35am, we had a smooth take off.

Pre-Select Dining
I haven´t tried the Pre-select dining service of Qatar Airways (where you are guaranteed of your choice of main course on all flights departing from Doha) so I thought I´d try it on this flight. I opted for the Chicken Satay which was confirmed and served on this flight 👍
About 12 minutes after take off, the crew came to take our orders, and asked if they could wake us up for the breakfast service. Aside from the Chicken Satay, I also ordered the Warm Lava cake for dessert and a glass of apple juice. For my breakfast, I opted for a continental one.
Light Dinner
Apple juice and warm nuts
Mike decided to start with the Soup of the Day which was some sort of tomato/paprika soup and which according to him was very good 😋
My Chicken Satay was also very good 😋
For my dessert, I had the Warm Lava Cake with Salted Caramel which was fantastic.
To end the dinner service, a hot towel and a Godiva chocolate was offered. I then eventually went to sleep.
Breakfast
Around 2 hours and 15 minutes left before arriving in Singapore, the crew started serving breakfast to those who wished to be woken up. I also found the immigration form left by the crew when I was sleeping.
The service started with a hot towel.
Hot towel
I was offered some fresh orange juice but I declined and instead asked for a cup of green tea.
Breakfast set up
My continental breakfast consisted of fresh fruits.
Some minutes later, I decided it was too light for a breakfast and asked if I could order the Mini Sliders. It was perfect 😋
Mike on the other hand had the Plain Omelette with Grilled Chicken Patty.
Greek yogurt
The breakfast service ended with a hot towel as usual.
Airshow
Airshow enroute to Singapore.
Inflight Entertainment
From the film selection, I watched "Ralph Breaks the Internet" and "First Man".
Inflight Wifi
The complimentary wifi was functioning this time and I was able to surf a bit during the flight.
Lavatory
The lavatories were always kept clean and had the usual amenities like dental kit and shaving kit.
Lavatory
Onboard Bar
The onboard bar had the usual bottle of champagne, snacks bar and fruits.
Landing in Singapore Changi Airport
Around 2:07pm, the captain was back on the PA to give us updated flight information and that we would be starting our descent in 10 minutes, with the current temperature of 34 degrees in Singapore. We landed at 2:54pm and reached our gate 5 minutes later.

CONCLUSION
There it was another great flight on Qatar Airways. Despite the fact that the Qsuite aircraft was changed last minute, I would say that overall it was an enjoyable flight as the service was fantastic and the food was great. The fact that we had to take a bus to the aircraft was not that ideal, and I hope they would be able to solve this in the future. We were not able to use the lovely Al Mourjan Lounge either as we did not have much time. Still, for the price we paid, it was worth it and I´d gladly fly with Qatar Airways business class again and again 😍
