Exploring Andorra

Mirador Roc del Quer in Canillo, Andorra

Trip to Andorra in the Pyrenees

Video on YouTube

Two weeks ago, Mike and I traveled to Barcelona where we spent a night. The following day, we took a bus to get to Andorra, a tiny European country located in the eastern Pyrenees. The bus ride from Barcelona Diagonal to Andorra La Vella bus station was roughly 3 hours including passport control. Once we arrived in the capital (the highest altitude-capital in Europe), we decided we´d just walk to our hotel and explore the sights along the way. The following day, I decided to go alone (Mike was unfortunately sick) and took a taxi to get to Mirador Roc del Quer in Canillo, with it´s viewing platform extending 12 meters out over the cliff´s edge. In case you are visiting Andorra in the future, here are some of my travel tips, and as always, please comment on the section below of your of travel tips.

La Noblesse du Temps (Nobility of Time): This sculpture was made by Salvador Dalí and was given to Andorra in 1999.

Caldea: This is one of Europe´s largest spas, with 18 floors.

Casa de la Vall, this is the country´s most emblematic building located in the historic center. It was the parliament building from 1702 to 2011. The building has been temporarily closed since April and is undergoing renovations.

Vista a la Vall (View to the Valley): Nice views of the surroundings.

St. Esteve of Andorra Church

Pont de Paris

Escultura La Mirada Eterna, one of many lovely sculptures in Andorra

Av Meritxell and Av. Carlemani, the main shopping streets in Andorra where you can buy duty free items like perfumes, clothes, etc.

Enjoying seafood paella (sadly, they did not have Andorra´s national dish Escudella, a rich pork stew).
