Copenhagen Kastrup Airport

During our short transit in Copenhagen Airport, we were able to visit the SAS Gold Lounge. Unlike the SAS Gold Lounge in Stockholm, they have a barista bar here, just like the one in the SAS Domestic Lounge Oslo.

The SAS Flagship Lounge will open in 2027.

Aircraft, A319 (OY-KBT) Ragnvald Viking

This 17-year old A319 will fly us from Copenhagen to Sarajevo today. The vertical stabilizer is colored black (there used to be the Star Alliance logo there) and the Star Alliance letters on the fuselage is gone. This is because of SAS switching from Star Alliance to Skyteam in September 2024.

Boarding, Gate D103

We left the lounge at 3:18pm for the 4:06pm departure since we still had to go to passport control, Bosnia and Herzegovina being not a member of the EU.

Boarding began at 3:36pm, starting with those passengers in SAS plus and those with status. We went downstairs only to wait for 10 more minutes. Then, we waited 9 minutes more in front of the door while passengers needing assistance board the aircraft.

SAS Plus Cabin

The SAS Plus cabin in the 3-3 configuration was from rows 1 to 3, with a total of 18 seats. On this flight, we were the only passengers flying SAS Plus so we were assured of a vacant middle seat (which will be re-introduced in October as the new business class intra-Europe with better catering).

Seat, 3A

When I chose our seats weeks before departure, the SAS Plus cabin was showing seats from rows 1 to 4, but on the date of departure, it was only up to row 3. The flight to Sarajevo actually was only half-full.

Legroom was okay for me. There was also the USB port although type A only, and a coat hook.

Safety instruction card, Menu card, wifi card, air-sickness bag

Take Off

Push-back began at 4:11pm and at 4:21pm, we were airborne.

Dining

Economy class passengers can order from the menu card while those flying in SAS Plus get complimentary food and drinks.

At 4:31pm, meal service commenced. For drinks, I had apple juice and tea while Mike had sparkling wine.

Apple juice and tea

On this flight, were were served smoked chicken breast, carrot and bean sprout noodle salad, coriander cream and pickled red cabbage. It was actually very good 😋

To end the meal, we were given some Finnish chocolates.

Lavatory

The lavatory was located in front of the cabin.

Arrival in Sarajevo Airport

We landed in Sarajevo Airport at 6:12pm, more than 10 minutes ahead of schedule.

CONCLUSION

For this 2 hour 20 minute flight, I thought the service was very good. The flight attendant working in the SAS Plus cabin took care of us really well and was really friendly. The meal served was very good too, although I am looking forward to October 1 when they re-introduce business class service intra-Europe with better catering. The complimentary wifi was a big plus, although the USB port A was not that helpful when I needed to charge my iPhone 15 since I needed a USB port C. Still, it was an enjoyable flight and for the price I paid (11,250 SAS points and 408kr), I can never complain!
