SAS Plus from Stockholm to Copenhagen

New York & Atlanta flying SAS Business Class

Introduction

After winning 1M SAS points last January, I decided to book my first trip to the US. I used 21K SAS points and SEK847 per person to fly with SAS Business Class from Stockholm to JFK, and then 30K SAS points and SEK239 per person to fly SAS Business Class from Atlanta back to Stockholm. This trip gave me the chance to visit the newly opened SAS Mastercard Lounge in Arlanda T5 which I thought was a very nice lounge. In New York, Mike and I stayed at the Hilton New York Times Square which was my 200th Hilton property, and in Atlanta we stayed at the American Hotel and Hilton Atlanta, 2 nice hotels located in the city center giving us easy access to the attractions like Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca Cola. Overall, we had an enjoyable trip and short as it may seem, I was able to maximize my 4 days off at work traveling to the US 👍

Stockholm Arlanda Airport T5

We arrived at Arlanda Terminal 5 at 6:20am for our 9am flight to Copenhagen. We already had our mobile boarding passes but decided to have one printed at the check-in desk for our flight to New York.

SAS Lounge by Mastercard, Arlanda Airport Terminal 5 Pier F

After using fast track, we headed to the new SAS Lounge by Mastercard at the F-Pier, a very nice lounge with modern design and impressive breakfast buffet catered by Scandic.

Boarding, Gate E10

We arrived at the boarding gate at 8:05am for the 8:30am boarding time. Once boarding started, those requiring assistance boarded first followed by group 1 which include SAS plus passengers and those with status.

SAS Plus Cabin

The SAS Plus cabin in 3-3 configuration consisted of seats from rows 1 to 9, with a total of 54 seats. On this flight, the cabin was 60-70% full.

Seat 8A

The seats are economy class seats, although I heard that SAS would make some improvements this summer with their catering intra-Europe so I hope they will also switch back to leaving the middle seats blocked. There is a USB power outlet and a coat hook.

The legroom was okay for me.
