Exploring Cebu, Siquijor, Bohol and El Nido

The world famous Chocolate Hills

Trip to the Philippines & Malaysia Flying Turkish Airlines Business Class

I recently traveled around the Visayas region with the Swedish group from Singelresor and just like the past trips, it turned out to be a fruitful one especially as it was my first time to travel to Siquijor, the mystic island. We started in Cebu where we had a day to visit the Basilica del Sto. Nino and Magellan´s Cross, Alegre guitars and had lechon for lunch among others. Then, we took the ferry (business class) to Siquijor via Tagbilaran where we discovered the wonders of this "Isla del Fuego". A visit to Cambugahay Falls was challenging but rewarding in the end, as well as a trip to Apo Island where I saw at least three sea turtles and lots of Nemos. From Siquijor, we took the ferry (business class again) back to Bohol and visited the world-famous Chocolate Hills, the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary and did the Loboc River Cruise to name a few. We stayed at Bohol Beach Club which is perhaps the best hotel in Bohol, with it´s own snorkeling spot for it´s guests. The last stop was El Nido where we flew Airswift from Tagbilaran Airport, the first eco airport in the Philippines. In El Nido, we did Tours A and C, enjoyed delectable seafood dishes including a lobster, and then during our free time, visited the famous Nacpan Beach. Finally, it was time to fly back to Cebu as the Swedish group had a flight back to Europe the following day. I got a bit of sunburn and some tummy problems during the last few days of our tour but all went well in the end. Below are some of the photos from our recent trip around Visayas.

  1. I am glad you made it to my wife's home island of Siquijor! (You might want to edit the name of the waterfall under the photo. You have it right in your overview.)

    1. Hi and thanks for the correction. I must have been thinking of the Island in Bohol while writing the waterfalls name. It was our first time in Siquijor in January and really fell in love with the mystic island ;)
