Exploring Doha

Trip to Doha and Riyadh

Although we have been to Doha a few times in the past, this was the first time that we stayed longer than three nights so as a result, we were able to really explore the city. Needless to say, new attractions have appeared which we have not visited in the past including the Katara Cultural Village, The Pearl and the Place Vendome in Lusail. Of course, if it is your first time visiting the capital city, I highly recommend not missing the National Museum of Qatar, Souq Waqif and the Museum of Islamic Art which we have previously visited. In case you are planning a trip to Doha, here are some of my travel tips and as always feel free to comment on the comment section below of your own travel tips!

We spent our first night near the Old Town so it was almost "required" of us to visit the Souq Waqif.

Souq Waqif

Finally, we were able to visit the highest building in Doha, The Torch (also known as the Aspire Tower).

Of course, we booked dinner at the Three Sixty Revolving Restaurant located on the 47th floor. The food, the staff and the views were amazing.

Villagio Mall: this mall is just a few steps away from The Torch so after our dinner, we decided to explore the mall a bit. The replica of the Grand Canal in Venice is the highlight of this mall 👍

Visiting The Pearl felt like visiting a part of the city where having illuminated buildings is a must 😉 The Pearl is an artificial island and the first in the country to be available for freehold ownership by foreigners.

During our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Lusail, we got the chance to visit this luxurious shopping mall Place Vendome. They had fountain show every hour during day time ..

And fountain show every 30 minutes in the evening.

And when I say luxury, they do have high-end shops and boutiques including LV and Dior and yes they have the Armani/Caffe 👍 The restaurants´ outdoor seating area around the Fountain also had air conditioning so it was luxury.

The Lusail Winter Wonderland is also a popular attraction in Lusail, Doha.
