Trip to Budapest and Berlin in February
A couple of weeks ago, I traveled to Budapest and stayed there for three nights. I stayed at both Hilton properties and then on my way back to Stockholm, I spent one night in Berlin. I flew with Lufthansa via Munich in economy class so I did not include any flight reviews but I was able to visit a few lounges along the way. From Berlin, I flew on SAS in economy class but with my Star Alliance gold card, I was able to visit the Lufthansa Senator Lounge in Berlin.

CONCLUSION
After staying at the Hilton Budapest City on my first night in Budapest, it was time to stay at another Hilton property, this time at the Hilton Budapest located in the Castle district. This hotel is actually situated in a UNESCO Heritage site making it a unique hotel. I arrived at the hotel around 1pm and inquired if I could leave my things first and then come back but I was told that they could check the room for me and if it was ready, then they could check me in. The lady receptionist (I forgot her name) confirmed that the room was indeed ready and accompanied me to the Executive Lounge. Once in the lounge, I was told by Timea, a very friendly receptionist that they had upgraded me to an Executive Room with views of the Danube River. I wasn't expecting much but when I got into my room, I just couldn't believe my eyes as I had the most stunning room view I have seen in my life. I had breathtaking view of the Fisherman's Bastion, the Danube River and the Parliament Building! In the past, I enjoyed the view of the Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome during my stay at the Hilton Fukuoka; the view of the Gulf of Finland while staying at the Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa and most recently the view of the Old Town from the Hilton Stockholm Slussen but the view from this room was simply unbeatable! Needless to say, this is the best hotel to stay at if you want to explore the top attractions in the Buda side. My room was spacious enough and I also loved the Diamond welcome amenity I got although I did not open the bottle of red wine as I thought it would just be a waste if I opened it and consume very little of it as I personally do not drink alcohol. The food offering at the Executive Lounge during the evening service was more than I expected, matched with the excellent service of Mr. Tibor (a very popular guy at Flyertalk). It was my first time to meet him and after a few chats with him, I understood why everybody at Flyertalk loves him. The breakfast buffet at the ICON restaurant was extensive and the staff were very friendly as well. The fitness center with view of the Parliament Building was also a big plus. I really enjoyed my time exploring the city of Budapest for the first time but staying at the Hilton Budapest made it even more memorable. To all the staff of Hilton Budapest, "Köszönöm!"
