Since I live in Stockholm, there is really no need for me to stay at the Hilton Stockholm Slussen or in any other hotel in Stockholm for that matter (unless it's an airport hotel). But a few weeks ago, a great opportunity came as I was coming home for my trip to Lisbon early evening and had an early morning flight for Prague the following day. The very good room rate matched with my Diamond status convinced me that it was then the right time to stay (and make a review) of this beautiful hotel. Checked in went smoothly and Maria the receptionist, upgraded me to a King Executive Room which was probably one of the best upgrades I've received. The room offered breathtaking view of the Old Town among others. In the past, I've been upgraded as a Gold member in Hilton Fukuoka with great views of the Fukuoka Yafuoku Dome as well as in Hilton Kalastajatorppa with great views of the Gulf of Finland but the view from this hotel is by far the best I've had. Everything I needed was inside the room: a sofa, an armchair with ottoman, a workdesk with free wifi connection and a beautiful bathtub. The Executive Lounge, with its Scandinavian design was one of the best I've been to. The food offering during evening snacks was also great and included oysters, spring rolls and grilled zucchini among others. The breakfast buffet's offering was just as impressive and had all I could ask for from a 5-star hotel. If there was one wish I had during my stay, it was that I wished the weather had been much sunnier because the views would have definitely been more spectacular. Or maybe I would be back in this hotel one summer day ;) To all the staff of Hilton Stockholm Slussen, "Tack så mycket" for making my stay in your hotel truly unforgettable! Shoutout to Maria for the upgrade!
