In December 2008, I was fortunate enough to have traveled to China for the first time together with the Singelresor group. We visited a few cities, among others Guilin, Yangshuo and Sanya. In the summer of 2010, I traveled to China for the second time, again with the Singelresor group. This time, we explored Beijing and Xi'an. For me, the best part of these two trips were being able to visit the Great Wall of China as well as the famous Terracotta Army of Xi'an. Of course, China is such a big country and I hope to visit other cities like Shanghai and Chengdu in the future. Here are some of the top attractions we visited during our trips, and which I highly recommend to everyone when visiting China.

Here are some of the top attractions we visited during our trips, and which I highly recommend to everyone when visiting China.
Taking the Li River Cruise in Guilin will give you the chance to capture the Guilin scenery on the 20 Yuan banknote. The scenery is just so spectacular!
The Impression Sanjie Liu water show is one of the most beautiful shows I've seen so don't miss it when in Yangshuo.
When in Sanya, make sure you visit the Sanya Monkey Island giving you a great view of the town from the top, as well as a great show of trained monkeys.
Sanya is famous for its wonderful beaches, no wonder the Miss World Beauty Pageant has been held here five times!
The Temple of Heaven in Beijing is one of the most popular attractions in the city so it's hard to be missed.
Tiananmen Square is the fourth largest city square in the world so feel free to explore it.
The Northern Gate, Forbidden City
The Forbidden City is definitely a must visit when travelling to Beijing.

China Central Television or CCTV is the main TV broadcaster in China.
A typical park in Beijing: just visit any of the parks in the city and take time to observe how the Chinese are enjoying life!
And since you are in China, you just have to go for any tea tasting being offered. After all, they have the best tea in the world.

If you have enough time, try to go to a Chinese Theater and simply enjoy the fantastic show.
Ming Tombs are a collection of imperial mausoleums as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Great Wall of China is undoubtedly one of the most popular top attractions not only in Beijing but in the whole of China so make sure you don't miss this.
If you are a Kungfu enthusiast, then make sure you visit the Red Theater for some "kungfu fighting".
When in Xi'an, start with the famous City Walls ...
The Terracotta Army of Xi'an is actually among my favorites. Imagine being able to see these figures dating from 200 BC.
And when in Xi'an, you might as well visit the Xi'an Castle.
