This used to be a water tower before it was turned into a luxury hotel, thus the shape of the building.

We arrived early so we just left our luggage by the reception and when we came back around 2:30pm, the room was ready. As a diamond, I got an upgrade to a junior suite. Thank you so much 🙏

The Lounge (open 24 hours)

The Lounge has 2 separate rooms (the one above is perfect for reading).

The other room has the complimentary coffee and tea for hotel guests.

As a junior suite, the room has a separate living room and bed room. It has a total area of about 50 sq.m. so it was spacious.

We also received a welcome amenity consisting of a sparkling wine and 2 sweets.

As expected, the bed was comfortable.

The bathroom which was located to the left upon entering the room was fairly spacious.

We got a drinks voucher and used it to have a glass of beer and a mocktail (Cool Summer).

Exploring the Area

From Cologne Triangle, you will enjoy lovely views of the cathedral and the surrounding.

CONCLUSION

There are two Hilton properties in Cologne and although the Wasserturm Hotel Cologne Curio Collection is not centrally located, it offers a unique experience: to be able to spend a night in the old water tower. The room upgrade we got as a diamond was really appreciated. The junior suite was spacious, well appointed and offered lovely views of the cathedral. The breakfast buffet offering was very good including some items which you can order. The Lounge offering complimentary coffee and tea is a lovely amenity. Lastly, the rooftop bar offering amazing views of the city was perfect. In case you are looking for a unique place to stay, the Wasserturm Curio Collection is highly recommended 👍
