Old canes from the owners

The hotel consists of two sections/parts. The front side is the new side built a few years ago where the rooms with higher ceilings are located. The the back side of the hotel is the older part built from the 17th-18th century. Most of the things owned by the family are in display all over the hotel.

Check-in

Hand sanitizers and face mask 👍

We arrived at the hotel just before 6pm and was helped by a friendly associate who informed us of our upgrade to the Emerald Suite. The hotel just opened a few days ago so it was nice to be one of the first guests here. Moments later, we were given our card keys.

The hallway leading to the elevator features several items belonging to the family who once lived here.

On one side of the bed is the phone while on the other side is a suitepad and the TV remote.

Exploring the Area

The hotel is steps away from the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga.

CONCLUSION

This is definitely a very special hotel since they were able to preserve the old building from the 17th-18th century, as well as have it as some sort of little museum. There are lots of items belonging to the family who once lived here which are in display along the hallway, in the room and all over the hotel. The staff were all friendly and of course, we loved the Emerald Suite with its chic and elegant design as well as the fantastic views from the bedroom. I know that the breakfast offering needs some more improvement but since they had just opened days ago, I am sure they will be improving it in the coming months. Overall, we really had an enjoyable stay here and would highly recommend it to everyone especially if the rates are low.
