A Day in Lisbon

A tram in Lisbon, Portugal

YouTube Video 📺

Flying back to Sweden last week, Mike and I had a chance to spend a whole day in Lisbon as our TAP Portugal flight from Madeira arrived at 7am and our flight to Stockholm the following day was at 7am. We stayed at the only Hilton property in the city, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lisbon-Fontana Park where we had a lovely breakfast to start the day. At 8:30am, we took the metro to the city and explored some tourist attractions including the Lisbon Cathedral, Sao Jorge Castle and Rossio Square. Below are some photos from our day tour.

Sta. Justa Elevator or "Elevator of Carmo"

R. Augusta Promenade with shops and cafes

Don´t forget to eat some Pastel de Nata 😋

Arco da Rua Augusta

Comercio Square

Sé De Lisboa or Lisbon Cathedral

This time, I was able to visit the Treasury upstairs although no picture taking was allowed. Entrance fee is 4 Euro.

Saint Anthony Church

Sao Jorge Castle

Fantastic view from the Sao Jorge Castle including the 25 de Abril Bridge 👍

Rossio Square and the National Theater

Figueira Square

Restauradores Square

Glória Funicular

Estação Ferroviária do Rossio

Nice buildings covered in tiles or azulejos, thanks to the Moors 👍

Established in 1732, Bertrand Bookshop is the world´s oldest bookstore 👍
