Exploring Gothenburg

Skansen Kronan

Video from my YouTube Channel 📺

Last weekend, Mike and I spent a night in Gothenburg. It was a very short visit but more than enough to have a break and explore the second largest city in Sweden. In case you are planning to visit Gothenburg, here are some of my travel tips:

Gustav Adolfs Square

Gothenburg City Hall located in the main square

Kronhuset, Gothenburg´s oldest house.

Gothenburg Cathedral

Brunnsparken by the canal is a popular park in the center. Taking a boat tour is also a great idea to see the city 😉

Göteborgs Operan

Lilla Bommen

Maritiman where you can explore maritime vessels

Lilla Bommens Hamn, this is very famous for tourists with all the restaurants around but due to Covid-19, it was empty during our visit.

Horticultural Society, a vast 19th century garden

Saluhall, a gourmet food hall which is comparable to the Söderhallarna in Stockholm 😉

Grand Theater

Kungsparken

Kungsportsavenyn, a famous avenue with restaurants and shops

Gothenburg´s Museum of Art with the Poseidon statue in front

Feskekörka, a large seafood market pretty much like the Stora Saluhallen 👍

Järntorgsbrunnen, with lots of cafes and restaurants around.

Haga, a lovely district with shops and cafes 😍

Skansen Kronan, once a fortress this is now a famous venue for weddings

View of the city from Skansen Kronan

Oscar Fredrik Church, with it´s beautiful Neo-Gothic architecture

Gothenburg Central Station

Inside the Central Station

Alfons Åbergs Kulturhus, for the kids 👦👧

Shopping in the city center

Taking the public transportation although the city is really not that big so walking would be fine 👍
