Retro Review: Thai A380 First Class, Bangkok-Hong Kong

THAI A380 first class, Bangkok to Hong Kong

I learned that the best way to fly in first class was to fly from the airline's hub. In my case, the best way to fly first class with Thai Airways is from Bangkok. The special treatment starts from check in and ends when you reach your destination where a staff greets you and escorts you either to the lounge or to the immigration section. A wonderful experience I will never forget!

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

We arrived at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport about five in the morning, three hours before our 8am flight.

First Class Check-in

The Royal First check in area entrance.

The Royal First Check in Counter

We were served a bottle of mineral water and cold towel while the staff checked us in.

The guy who escorted us to the security control until we reached the first class lounge. Cool!

Thai Royal First Lounge

As we wait for the golf cart, we were accommodated at the lounge waiting area.

The Royal First Class Lounge is definitely one of the best lounges I've visited. If you want to know more of my experience in this extraordinary lounge, you can click here.

As a first class passenger, you get a 60 minute full body massage at the Royal Orchid Spa. What more can you ask for 😍

Boarding, Gate C3

The flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong leaves at Gate C.

The Royal First and Royal Silk passengers use a separate bridge which goes direct to the upper deck.

First Class Cabin (Upper Deck)

The first class cabin has a total of 12 mini suites with a 1-2-1 configuration. That day, the flight was half full probably because most of the premium passengers were seated in business class. In a short flight like this, flying in first class can be considered a luxury. Or maybe not 😉

Arrival in Hong Kong International Airport

Upon arrival, a golf cart was available for passengers who would need assistance.

We were met by a young lady who introduced herself and asked if we would like to go directly to the gate or spend some time in the lounge. Since we still had an hour before boarding, we decided to be escorted to the business class lounge.

CONCLUSION

This is definitely an experience I would never forget. From the moment we arrived at the airport in Bangkok until we reached the business class lounge in Hong Kong, everything was just perfect. The first class mini-suites, the food and the service... I just wished the flight had been longer 😉
