Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4

Singapore Changi Airport T4

Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4 is the newest and most modern terminal in Changi Airport and where the newly-opened Cathay Pacific Lounge is located.

The terminal boasts of ultra modern things including self-service check-in kiosks and automated immigration controls. I swear it felt like I was in one of the main airports in Europe as everything went seamlessly and very efficient. I had a little problem with the automated passport controls though since my boarding pass was missing my middle name but an officer (beside me) came and fixed the issue.

The centerpiece of Terminal 4 is the Petalclouds which is a grand-scale kinetic structure consisting of six structures across the Central Galleria. It is designed to evoke the impression of clouds moving slowly in the sky and is definitely something you should not miss when in T4 👍

There's also the Heritage Facade (close to the Cathay Pacific Lounge) with interior design and furnishings which gives you a sense of nostalgia. Be sure to watch the Peranakan Love Story being played from time to time 😉

Another thing (which I actually missed) is the Immersive Wall located in the centralized security area. It's a 70m by 5m LED display showcasing Singapore's skyline among other things. I guess I have to depart from T4 again when visiting Singapore 😉

CONCLUSION

Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4 is just so impressive with it's beautiful design and modern facilities that departing from this terminal is already a treat to the passengers of Cathay Pacific flying to Hong Kong. The fact that access to the terminal is restricted to those with boarding passes departing from Terminal 4 means that the lounge is exclusively for those flying on Cathay Pacific, and thus no chance for lounge-hopping from other OneWorld passengers. As this is one of the airline's largest outside of Hong Kong, overcrowding is never an issue. The famous design by Studioilse matched with great food from the Noodle Bar and the buffet can easily makes this lounge a favorite of any traveler. The lack of shower facility and a tended bar (which you'd find in Bangkok and Manila) are perhaps two minor things that passengers can easily forgive ... and forget 😉 The view of the gorgeous departure hall and a little of the tarmac are two plusses as well.

Overall, the newly opened Cathay Pacific Lounge is a very impressive lounge with modern, homey-feel design, great amenities and excellent food offering. The lounge being located in the most modern terminal in Changi Airport just makes it even better  😍
