THAI Royal First Lounge, Concourse E
Upon arrival in Bangkok Airport, I was met by an agent who escorted me to the THAI Royal First Lounge in Concourse D. I've read that there's another First Class Lounge located in Concourse E so I decided to visit it as well. It was definitely smaller and not much to offer compared to the main lounge but it was nice being able to see the difference between the two lounges.

Boarding, Gate C4
I left the lounge before 6pm and as soon as I arrived at the gate, I was informed by the agent that the aircraft just arrived and that I could go back to the lounge if I wish to. I decided to stay since I was planning to take some pictures and that I wanted to be among the first ones to board. Around 6:20pm, an announcement was made, that they would be starting boarding at 6:40pm. Boarding started around 6:35pm with business class passengers getting priority boarding, as well as those with status.
Cabin
THAI Airbus A330-300 business class cabin
The cabin has a total of 36 seats and on that evening flight to Hong Kong, only 5 seats were vacant.
Seat, 17B
THAI Airbus A330 last middle seats, business class cabin
From the seat map the day before the flight, I chose 17B as my seat, and on my flight, seat 17A which was displaying as available the day before remained vacant which was cool.😉
Personal TV screens
Moments after settling in, I was offered a hot towel as well as something to drink and I chose a glass of purple drink 😉
From the movie selection, I ended up watching "The Longest Ride".
Sawasdee inflight magazine and headphones
A few minutes later, the flight attendant working on my aisle came to offer the menu card and wine list. Afterwards, it was time to take my main course order and I chose the Braised Pork in Red Wine. Newspapers were also offered later.
Around 6:55pm, the inflight safety video started to play and 5 minutes later, we began our pushback. The captain also came on the PA to give us some flight informations including our flight time of 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Take off went smoothly at 7:16pm.
Dining
THAI business class menu and wine list
The menu read as follows:
The champagnes on board were Duval-Leroy Brut Pur Chardonnay and Veuve Clicquot Brut n.v.
The meal service started with some almonds and drinks, for which I chose a glass of lychee juice served with a glass of water.
Drinks trolley
I was also offered some hot towels.
Smoked Salmon Rose, Smoked Halibut, Potato Salad German Style 😋
After serving the appetizer, the flight attendant offered me some Chinese tea although I declined. By this time, the captain came on the PA to give us updated flight informations: that we would be landing at 10:25pm with the current weather in Hong Kong being 22 degrees.
Braised Pork in Red Wine, Tossed Linguine, Buttered Vegetables 😋
Fresh Fruits
Chocolate Panna Cotta with Apricot Jelly
Coffee, tea and liquor service
Everything from the appetizer to the dessert was fantastic specially the braised pork.
After clearing the tables, the flight attendants started distributing immigrations forms. The captain came on the PA once again around 9:50pm to inform us that we would be landing in 25 minutes. Moments later, a video of Hong Kong Airport Arrival and Transit Guide was shown.
We landed at Hong Kong Airport around 10:20pm, 5 minutes ahead of schedule 👍
CONCLUSION
Again, another great flight on THAI Airways in business class. The crew were very friendly (as usual) and did a great job overall specially during the meal service. The braised beef was very tasty and was one of the best meals I've had in business class. The delay from Bangkok Airport did not really matter as we were able to arrive in Hong Kong even a few minutes early. Overall, it was a very nice flight and I would gladly fly again with THAI on this route in the future.
