ANA Suite Lounge, Gate 114 Tokyo Haneda

As a first class passenger on THAI Airways, I was able to visit the ANA Suite Lounge near gate 114, where I also had a shower. Since I still had enough time before boarding, I went to the other ANA Suite Lounge near gate 110 where I stayed for about half an hour until it was time for boarding.

The beautiful Boeing 747-400 named Thepprasit flying us to Bangkok 😉

Boarding, Gate 106A

Boarding was scheduled at 10am so I made sure I would be at the departure gate before that time so I could take a few pictures. About 10:05am, boarding started with first class passengers getting priority boarding followed by business class passengers, and those with status.

Seat, 2A

As I boarded, I was welcomed by one of the cabin attendants and shown to my seat. She also offered to hang my coat which I gladly accepted.

Welcome to my seat, 2A!

I knew beforehand that the flight would be full and I was glad I was able to keep my window seat 😉

Here's a short video tour of my seat and the rest of the first class cabin 😉

There's an ottoman located in front of my seat. A pair of slippers were also tucked in the literature rack.

As usual, there was a small box of chocolates placed beside the IFE controls.

The headphones and the Rimowa first class amenity kit were placed together in one of the storage bins.

Moments after settling in, I was offered a hot towel.

I was also offered something to drink (specifically a glass of champagne) but settled for a glass of water with a slice of lemon.

Shown on the projector was a tourism ad for Thailand which I thought was a very smart way of showcasing the beauty of this country, specially with its slogan: Experience Thailand Once In A Lifetime.

Minutes later, the lady flight attendant came to my seat to confirm my lobster thermidor order.

We started our pushback at 10:32am and moments later, the safety video started to play. The captain also came on the PA to give us some flight informations including our flight time of 6 hours and 30 minutes.

Take off was at 10:53am which went smoothly.

As soon as the seatbelt sign was turned off, the flight attendants started distributing blankets. I was also asked for my drinks order and chose the usual guava juice although unfortunately, it was not available so I settled for a glass of apple juice.

Dining

The menu read as follows:

A few minutes later, my apple juice was served which was followed by the setting up of the table.

My glass of apple juice.

From the savoury menu, I was offered the Yakitori and Curry Puff which were fantastic 😋

There was also the usual Som Thum, Thai green papaya salad which was also great.

Then it was time for the first course which consisted of king crab salad, shrimp and grilled scallop which was excellent 👍

Chestnut Soup with Duck Liver Mousse

I was not really hungry but decided to order their soup which proved to be a very wise decision as it was perfect.

I still hadn't been offered a table napkin by this time so I had to ask for it from the flight attendant.

Lobster Thermidor

It became a bit turbulent by this time so the meal service was stopped for a moment.

Seasonal Fresh Fruits

The service then continued with some fruits ...

Rum Savarin, Orange Sauce

... and desserts.

I was also offered a bottle of Evian water and a cup of green tea which I gladly accepted.

I was feeling tired after the meal service and decided to take a nap. I woke up around 2:34pm and was offered a hot towel and some Haagen Dazs ice cream although I declined. Instead, I chose a glass of apple juice.

The captain came on the PA once again to give us updated flight informations and that we would be landing in 40 minutes. A video guide for Bangkok Airport Arrival and Transit was shown and lastly, the flight attendants came to our seats to thank each one of us in the cabin for flying with THAI. Coats were also returned to the passengers.

Strangely, they were playing Christmas songs (instrumental) for the last 20-30 minutes of the flight until we landed 😉

Landing at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

We landed at Bangkok Airport around 3:44pm, 4 minutes behind schedule and reached our gate (gate D4) 13 minutes later.

CONCLUSION

Again, another lovely flight in THAI Airways First Class. The highlight of this flight was actually the food since everything from the appetizer to the dessert was excellent. The service could still improve as the flight attendant forgot to offer me the menu card and the table napkin. The seats were also the least appealing among their first class seats since the ones they have on their A380s and their Boeing 74Ns are much, much nicer. Overall, I really enjoyed this flight from Tokyo Haneda to Bangkok and eventhough it was not perfect, THAI Airways will always be among my favorite airlines in first class.

*This trip from Tokyo to Bangkok in First Class and Bangkok to Hong Kong in Business class would have cost me 43,898 SEK if I had not booked it with miles.
