Trip to Budapest and Berlin in February

A couple of weeks ago, I traveled to Budapest and stayed there for three nights. I stayed at both Hilton properties and then on my way back to Stockholm, I spent one night in Berlin. I flew with Lufthansa via Munich in economy class so I did not include any flight reviews but I was able to visit a few lounges along the way. From Berlin, I flew on SAS in economy class but with my Star Alliance gold card, I was able to visit the Lufthansa Senator Lounge in Berlin.

CONCLUSION

Last week, I stayed at the beautiful Hilton Budapest City located near the West End shopping mall. If you are taking the metro to the hotel (the way I did), you get off at Nyugati Station and take the B exit. I liked the location of the hotel since it is walking distance to the Parliament Building and of course, if you love shopping, then the shopping mall is just a few steps away. Upon arrival, I was checked in by Kata, a very friendly agent and was told that I was upgraded to a Junior Suite. It was actually my first time to be upgraded to a suite room so I was really very happy. I was also given an envelope full of brochures but since I prefer exploring the city by myself when I'm not traveling with Singelresor, I decided  I'd use them on another occasion. The room I got was a very nice room, very spacious and close to the Executive Lounge. It had a separate living room and the bathroom had my favorite toiletries from Peter Thomas Roth. Wifi connection was pretty fast and I was able to do some work done. I also loved the Diamond welcome amenity which included a bottle of wine, a large bottle of water and some desserts. The Executive Lounge really had good offerings during the evening and I specially loved their pasta. They also have an outdoor terrace but since it was raining mostly during my stay, I was not able to enjoy it. The breakfast buffet also had a very good offering and I was very satisfied after my meal. Unfortunately, I was not able to use the sauna but to have one for their guests is a plus specially during winter season. I am so happy I stayed in this hotel since I was able to visit most of the attractions located on the Pest side during my stay here. For the price that I paid, I really think that this hotel is one of the best hotels to stay when in Budapest. To Hilton Budapest City, "Köszönöm!"
