This Air Berlin Exclusive Waiting Area is actually the first outside Germany which is a sign that Vienna is an important hub for both Air Berlin and Niki Air. In order to access the lounge, you would just need to scan your boarding pass as there are no staff there. The whole time Mike and I were there, we were only 4 passengers so it was not crowded at all considering that the seating capacity is 37. There was the usual coffee machine where one can enjoy a cup of cappuccino among others; several tea selection and sofdrinks. There were also magazines and newspapers although all were in German. The leather armchairs by Walter Knoll are comfortable as well. And for those needing to charge their mobile phones and laptops, there are power points available inside the waiting area. The waiting area also has its own departure information board so you don't need to leave your seat to monitor your flight. Lastly, the cleaning staff makes sure that the waiting area is spotlessly clean making this one of the cleanest waiting areas/lounge I have ever been to. Overall, this waiting area is not much if you compare it to regular airport lounges but this is definitely a big plus for those status passengers of Air Berlin and Niki Air as it is indeed a nice and quiet place to relax while waiting for your next flight.
