Premium Economy Cabin

The premium economy cabin consists of 4 rows in a 2-4-2 configuration, with a total of 32 seats. This Boeing aircraft doesn´t have first class cabin.

Seat, 33K

Window seat with blanket, pillow and amenity kit. The seat itself is okay, it is premium economy so it is still more of economy class rather than business class. The pillow and blanket were actually of good quality.

The legroom as expected was good enough.

Personal screen, USB socket, coat hook, headphones

Arm rest (middle)

Tray table under the left armrest

As you can see from the seat controls, there is not much recline here. Still, it is much better than economy.

IFE controls, headphone jacket

The movie selection was average.

Inflight magazines, safety instruction card, air-sickness bag

The premium economy amenity kit included a dental kit, ear plugs and an eye mask which are the essential things I needed on this flight.

The blanket was of very good quality, it almost felt like it was for the business class passengers.

Dining

There was a welcome drink of orange juice.

Menu card and beverage list

Dinner and snacks

Breakfast

The beverage list included spirits, beers, white wines (Maison Robert Sauvignon Blanc or Karlu Karlu Chardonnay), red wines (Real Compania de Vinos Tempranillo or Borsao Classic 2017).

Bottle of mineral water

Apple juice and pretzels were distributed before dinner.

Dinner: The grilled prime beef tenderloin was very good, it was flavorful 😋

Movenpick ice cream for dessert, why not!

Cup noodles and assorted snacks were available upon request throughout the flight although I slept between dinner and breakfast service so I was not able to take pictures.

Breakfast was okay (not sure if it was the same as economy class)

Lavatory

This lavatory with face moisturizer and hand cream is used by economy class passengers as well.

CONCLUSION

This was my first time to fly Cathay Pacific in premium economy. The two differences I noticed between the economy and premium economy cabins aside from the seats are that the blankets are thinner in economy and that the passengers were given plastic cutlery. For the price I paid, I would say it was worth it, and being able to visit the Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge in London Heathrow before this flight was a big plus.
