Turkish Airlines Lounge, Istanbul Airport

Landing at Istanbul Airport around 11:30pm and parking in a remote stand, it was already 12 midnight by the time we reached the lounge.

Turkish Airlines Business Lounge, Istanbul

I was a bit sick and decided to drink the Winter Tea from their tea selection 😉

Boarding, Gate 704

Boarding was from gate 704 which started at 1:30am beginning with business class passengers and those with status.

As the aircraft was in a remote stand, we used a bus but this time, there was no separate bus for business class passengers. Turkish Airlines has been inconsistent when it comes to providing a separate bus for their premium passengers and I really hope they could offer better service in the future.

Aircraft, Boeing 777 named Ortaköy

And as I always say, the good thing about the aircraft being in a remote stand is that I could always take better pictures of the plane 😉

Cabin

Turkish Airlines business class cabin on the Boeing 777 is arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration with rows 1 to 4 in the forward section and then rows 5 to 7 behind the galley.

Seat, 6A

Waiting at my seat 6A was a blanket.

Unfortunately, the IFE control was not working so I informed one of the flight attendants about it and I was told that they would reset it.

A few minutes before 2am, one of the two inflight chefs came to offer the menu card and beverage list.

Minutes later, we were offered some welcome drinks by a lady flight attendant who introduced herself and informed us that she would be taking care of our aisle.

Mike had his usual Limonata while I had nothing.

Placed on the ottoman were the business class slippers.

At 2:15am, the inflight chef working on our side of the cabin came to take our main course order and I chose the seafood meal. It was my first time to see two inflight chefs working in the business class cabin (they only had one a few weeks ago on our flight to Panama) so I had to ask him why they were two on this flight. I was told that one inflight chef is not enough. It makes sense since the business class cabin on their Boeings have more seats than on their Airbus we flew on to Panama.

As this was a Boeing, there was also wifi connection 👍

Moments later, headphones, amenity kits and newspapers were offered.

Denon headphones

Amenity Kit

The amenity kit consisted of a Furla bag, Shea hydrating cream and lip balm from Institut Karite with all the usual stuff like socks, eyeshades, comb, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Safety Video

Around 2:20am, the inflight safety video was played and 5 minutes later, we started our pushback. By this time, the IFE controls were still not working and the flight attendant suggested I transfer to seat 5A which was not occupied. I decided to stay and just use the touch screen 😉

Take off went smoothly at 2:40am and moments later, we were airborne.

Turndown Service

A few minutes after the seat belt sign was turned off, the flight attendants came to offer to make our bed and which we gladly accepted.

Menu

Moments later, hot towels were offered and then, our table was set up.

Immigration forms

Water and mixed nuts

Drinks order were taken and I settled for a cup of winter tea.

The seafood appetizer was superb 😋

For my main course, I had the Potpourri of Grilled Seafood which was phenomenal 😋

Then, it was time for dessert. Mike had the White Chocolate Mousse and a cup of Turkish tea ...

... while I had the fresh fruit salad.

To end the meal service, bottles of mineral water were offered.

Lavatory

In the business class cabin, there was a lavatory in the forward section and two in the rear section. As usual, they had the Molton Brown hand soap and hand lotion.

Toilet

Self-serve Bar

I was too late to visit the self-serve bar and by the time I took this picture, they had already removed the items.

Breakfast

Breakfast service started two hours before landing. Towels were offered, which was followed by a glass of orange juice or water.

Unfortunately, I was given the wrong main course. I also had to remind them of the winter tea which I ordered 👎

Landing at Singapore Changi Airport

Around 5:12pm, the captain came on the PA to give us updated flight information and that we would be landing in 20 minutes.

Approach into Singapore Changi Airport

We landed at Singapore Changi Airport at 5:36pm and reached our gate which was D32 nine minutes later.

CONCLUSION

I've been flying quite often with Turkish Airlines in business class lately and just like my previous flights with them, there are good and not so good things 😉 The food was phenomenal as always, thanks to DO&CO catering. The free wifi and the seats that turn into fully flat beds were also very nice. Unfortunately, the IFE controls were not working, the breakfast main course was not the one I ordered and they also forgot to serve my winter tea. Still, it was an enjoyable flight overall since our economy class ticket was very cheap (about 3400SEK where we used our Elite Plus voucher to upgrade in business class) and we got to enjoy a great business class product out of it 😍😉
