*This is an award travel, Business Class flight #66
Check-in counter was empty when I arrived but after awhile, a young guy came and processed my check in. He also asked for my emergency contact number which I thought was a good sign that he was following the standard procedures. I tried to ask if he could issue my boarding pass from London to Tokyo on Japan Airlines and luckily he could. It was nice seeing a Finnair boarding pass with a "First Class" printed on it since they actually don't offer first class on their own flights ;)
The Airbus A320 taking us to Helsinki that early Thursday morning.
Boarding was scheduled to start at 8:05 at gate 65 but it didn't start until 20 minutes later.
Finnair Business Class Seats, Stockholm-Helsinki, with the middle seats being blocked for extra space. The cabin has a 2-2 configuration with a total of 14 seats, 3 of which were occupied that day. I sat on 3F which was a window seat.
Newspapers were offered a few minutes after settling in and I chose Financial Times. The Finnair Sky Bistro menu card was already in front of the seat when I came,
Finnair safety card
A pretty old SAS aircraft during taxi.
Cabin screen
The meal consisted of a Chicken Caesar Wrap which I thought tasted very good. After awhile, water, tea or coffee were offered.
View before landing at Helsinki Airport
Arrival at Helsinki Vantaa Airport
CONCLUSION
Apart from late boarding, I thought the flight was okay. The food served on board was very good and the cabin attendants were also very friendly. For intra-Europe flights, I would say that Finnair is defintely a good choice.
