The famous red telephone box in London
Although London is a very popular tourist destination, it wasn't until last month that I was really able to explore a bit of it. The United Kingdom surely has a lot to offer but for now, London is the only British city I've been to. Here are some of the places Mike and I visited during our short layover in London.
Palace of Westminster with the world famous Big Ben (the Great Bell of the clock)
London Eye, a giant Ferris Wheel that is synonymous to London
The Buckingham Palace, the official Royal Palace of the British Monarch
The Victoria Memorial, a monument to Queen Victoria which was completed in 1924, located just in front of the main gates of the Buckingham Palace
10 Downing Street also known as the Prime Minister's Office
Cabinet Office White Hall
Nelson's Column is a monument in Trafalgar Square, a square used for community gatherings like the New Year's Eve celebration
Tower Bridge is one of the most recognizable structures in the whole world and is one of London's icon
Piccadilly Circus is a square not to be missed in London. The neon advertising will remind you of New York Times Square
Taking the "tube" is one of the best ways to feel you are in London!
