Louvre Museum, Paris
First visit: June 2010
My Country #18
The first time I visited France was in 2010, where I (together with Mike) spent a few days exploring Paris, the City of Light. I was so ecstatic then as I was able to fulfill my long time dream of visiting the famous Eiffel Tower. Last year, I won a plane ticket to Nice thru Turkish Airlines' Facebook contest, giving me a chance to explore French Riviera's largest city for a few days. France is really a big country with so much to offer to its guests and I really hope to visit other parts of this land in the future. In case you're planning a trip to Paris and Nice, here are some of my travel tips:
Paris
Eiffel Tower: Visiting Paris is never complete without visiting this famous tower. Make sure you visit it in the evening as well.
Louvre Museum: Inside the world's largest museum, you'll be able to marvel at one of the most famous paintings in the world, the Mona Lisa, a masterpiece of the Italian genius Leonardo da Vinci.
Video I took while visiting the Mona Lisa inside the Louvre Museum 😉
Louvre Pyramid: Opened in 1989, this famous icon will surely remind you of the film "The Da Vinci Code"
Arc de Triomphe
Champs-Élysées: Considered as one of the most beautiful avenues in the world, there's lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy 😉
Ferris Wheel
Notre-Dame de Paris: Visiting this 13th century cathedral is simply a must when in Paris.
Basilica of Sacre Coeur
Place du Tertre: This beautiful square is just a few minutes walk from the Sacre Coeur so it's hard to miss.
Petit Palais
Hotel de Ville
Opera Garnier
Grande Arche
La Defense Business District
Boat Tour: This is definitely one of the best ways to see Paris 😉
Nice
Promenade de Anglais
Nice Cathedral (Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate): Inside the cathedral, you'll find the remains of St. Reparata
Jardine Albert I
Massena Square is the main square of the city
Place Garibaldi: This beautiful square is one of the oldest squares in Nice.
Castle Hill: It won't be easy to reach the top but when you get there, you'll be rewarded with great views 😉
Enjoying French Cuisine specially the Moules 😋
Taking the public transportation
