Traveling to Israel and Palestine with a sidetrip to Petra, Jordan
A few weeks ago, I traveled again with the Singelresor group after our trip to New Zealand and this time, we went to Israel and Palestine making a side trip to Petra, Jordan. With all the negative things being written about the safety of traveling to these countries, we actually did not experience anything that could be considered unsafe. Nevertheless, it is always advisable not to go to where the "conflict" is. The highlight of this trip for me was definitely being able to visit Petra and Jerusalem. We flew with Turkish Airlines in economy class so I did not write any flight reviews.

We were also given a boxed breakfast which consisted of different kinds of bread/croissant and a fruit.
Airport Shuttle
The hotel also offers complimentary shuttle service from 5 am to 12 midnight.
CONCLUSION
Last week, we stayed at the beautiful Hilton Garden Inn which is located about 6 kilometers from Istanbul Ataturk Airport. We arrived past 12 midnight and thus were not able to avail of their complimentary shuttle to the hotel. Still, it was a short taxi ride and inexpensive as well. We also got a plate of kiwi fruits and two bottles of mineral water which was really appreciated. The bed was really comfortable and needless to say, we had a goodnight's sleep. In the morning, we were given the boxed breakfast by Irmak, the same friendly receptionist who helped us with the check in process the night before. It was a very short stay so we were not able to check out the fitness center, indoor swimming pool, sauna and business center, all of which are complimentary. With a modern design, closeness to the airport and free breakfast among other things, this hotel is highly recommended when looking for an airport hotel in Istanbul.
