Check-in

We arrived at the hotel around 2pm and was helped by a friendly associate. He informed us of the room upgrade, which was also relayed to me three days prior thru an email.

This was our first time to see the eReg Card (ipad) which replaces the usual paper with all the stay details and which the guests need to sign during check-in. This is definitely a better way and surely environment friendly so kudos to Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront 👍

The welcome letter was sent thru an email the day before our stay, and contained information about the hotel (the hotel was built as a granary in 1912 before being transformed into a hotel in the 1980s, thus offering really large rooms) as well as opening hours of the restaurants and amenities.

CONCLUSION

Even though we have our own apartment in Vienna, we decided to stay in this hotel as the rate was very good and it is close to where we live (a total of 7 stops taking 2 Metro lines). As a diamond member, it was nice to have a room upgrade with fantastic views of the Danube River. The room was spacious with really large beds. Unfortunately, the Samsung TV was not a smart TV and it was a bit warm at night (the adjustable thermostat was locked it seemed and could not be adjusted). The happy hour offering in the Executive Lounge was very good especially the beef soup with oxtail. The breakfast buffet offering I would say was very good. I am sure the outdoor seating during summer would be very popular as well. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront and would highly recommend it to everyone especially if you are staying during summer 👍
