*This is an award travel, First Class flight #9
I was originally booked on the flight BKK-HND on the 747 but since I wanted to experience First Class on the superjumbo, I decided to change my booking to a later flight, and this time it was to Narita which was much better.
Check-in, Royal First
My second time to experience Thai's Royal First check in
Royal First check in desk
Honestly, my cabin luggage didn't even weigh more than 10 kilos but I really wanted to have a Thai Airways First Class luggage tag which I didn't get flying from Sydney to Bangkok in first class last year so here it is 😉
While waiting for my boarding pass and lounge invitation, I was given a bottle of water and a cold towel.
The check in process went smoothly and I was escorted by this young gentleman from security to my ride to the Royal First Lounge.
Here it is! My ride to the Royal First Lounge 👍
Royal First Lounge
One of the perks of flying THAI first class aside from enjoying the Royal First Lounge is the access to the Royal Orchid Spa.
I thought I needed a massage so I went directly to the Royal Orchid Spa. First class passengers are given an hour of complimentary massage while business class passengers get a 20-minute shoulder massage, etc. While waiting for my turn, I was served a glass of drink (sorry I forgot what is was) and a cold towel.
I specifically asked for this massage room since when the last time was here, I got the one without the bubble bath.
As a first class passenger, I was entitled to have an hour full body massage but I wanted to have a bath so I requested to have the last 20 minutes for my relaxing bath. I was told by Jitarpa, the masseuse, that I could not use any oil though so it was just water, but it was more than perfect.
After my very relaxing massage, it was time for my lunch at the restaurant. This small area was closed but I guess it would be used for those couples who will be celebrating the Valentine's Day the following day.
And yes, I ordered my lunch from this Ipad 😉
I ended up ordering this spare ribs noodles which was very good. I have to say though that there was not much to choose from and I hope they could improve on that 😉
After having my lunch, I had to work a bit (had a few flight bookings to make) and then decided to have a nap in one of their slumber rooms.
After my nap, I took a shower before having a light dinner.
Boarding
And then, it was time to head to the gate, again with an escort. Lovely 😍
This is our ride to the boarding gate. Well, we were 4 passengers so we used two of these buggies.
First Class Cabin
The first class cabin has a total of 12 seats and all seats were occupied on that evening flight to Tokyo.

My first ever Rimowa kit. I wish they would offer this on all their first class routes.
The flight attendant handed to me the pajamas and apologized for not having my size and gave me a large pair 😏

Would you like to have a glass of Dom, Mr. Jeciel?
Dining
Menu card

A glass of guava juice.

Time to Sleep
After the wonderful dinner, one of the cabin attendants asked me if I wanted the turn down service. Here it is 👍
Breakfast
After having a couple of hours of sleep, it was time for a light breakfast which consisted of fresh fruits, yoghurt ...
Deep-fried Tofu with sticky minced Prawn Sauce, Steamed Japanese Rice roll with Stewed Clam, Koya Tofu and Mixed Vegetables 😋
A cup of Japanese green tea ...
Landing in Tokyo Airport
The landing was very smooth and as usual, we were the first ones to leave the aircraft.
CONCLUSION
I was really glad I changed to this flight. I got my first ever Rimowa amenity kit, new pajamas and slippers. The food tasted great and the service was impeccable. I would never have second thoughts flying with Thai Airways in first class, specially on the superjumbo. Thanks to all the cabin crew who were on this flight. Till next time 😍
