Bandar Seri Begawan Airport

We took a taxi from the Radisson Hotel and arrived at the airport about 2 and a half hours before the flight.

Check-in, Desk A1

First Class check in was at desk A1.

My Singapore Airlines First Class boarding card 😍

Airside

Before taking the stairs to the lounge, we saw this Royal Brunei Dreamliner model.

Sky Lounge

Then, we spent an hour or so at the beautiful Sky Lounge.

Aircraft, Boeing 777-300

The Boeing 777-300 taking us back to Singapore 😍

Boarding, Gate 5

Boarding started on time at Gate 5.

First Class Cabin

Singapore Air Boeing 777-300 first class cabin

4 of the 8 seats in first class were occupied that day, the other two being father and son who were seated on the right side of the cabin.

Seat 1A

Welcome to my first class seat, 1A 👍

My very nice and huge seat 😍

After being escorted to my seat, the cabin attendant also helped me with my luggage.

I didn't see this small trash bin on the previous flight so I had to take a picture of it.

I wasn't able to finish watching the film "Seven Years a Slave" so I decided to watch the remaining parts.

I was also given a pair of slippers, something I didn't get on the outbound flight so it must be that that one leaves early morning while this flight leaves midday.

Pre-departure Beverage

A glass of water as a pre-departure beverage. After awhile, the purser came to my seat and handed me a new boarding pass for this flight.

I had earlier asked the supervisor while boarding if I could have a new boarding pass for my collection and she promised me she would try to have someone print a new one and send it to my seat before the flight leaves.

Dining

Menu card

From their list of non-alcoholic beverages, I had a glass of "Awaiting the Golden Dawn" which is a healthy refreshing mix of pineapple, tomato and orange juice. The cabin attendant also informed me that she could ask the bar to put less tomato juice in case I would prefer it to be milder (which is what I actually want) so here it is 👍

Appetizer: Tian of Alaskan crab with avocado, salmon roes, quail egg and basil oil

Alaskan Crab 😋

From the Book a Cook, I had a seafood meal which was phenomenal 😋

On the other hand, Mike had the lamb chop from the menu which also tasted exceptional. The 3 choices from the menu were: Crumbed Lamb Chop with Anchovy-caper dressing, pickled shallot, roasted pumpkin and green beans or Indian Fish curry, spicy vegetables and pilaff rice or Braised Udon noodles with chicken, leafy greens and Chinese mushroom.

A glass of Dom Perignon 2004 👍

Finale: Berry Crumble with vanilla sauce and fresh mixed berries

So I just noticed that Singapore Airlines cabin attendants are putting the knife on the left side of the plate and the fork on the right side. I think all the other airlines do the opposite 😉

Souvenirs

After the meal, I was also given two playing cards, and a writing kit (not in the picture). A pair of socks (in the picture) were given to me earlier together with the slippers.

Arrival in Singapore

Around 2:30 in the afternoon, we landed at Changi Airport Terminal 3 and decided to take the metro to Sentosa, as we have booked a night at the Hard Rock Hotel.

22 hours was not enough to explore the Resorts World Sentosa. Wished we had more time.

CONCLUSION

Who wouldn't love flying on Singapore Airlines in first class? The service was once again impeccable. I was always addressed by my name. Selamat, the male cabin attendant really took time to talk with us. At first he thought I had Spanish passport since my Swedish passport looked the same as the one from Spain. I later told him that I now live in Sweden although I am originally from the Philippines. The lady cabin attendant who asked if I would like to have less tomato juice on the cocktail I ordered, did a very fine job. Again, thanks Singapore Airlines for another great time flying with you. Until next time 😍
