Me visiting the Singapore Botanic Gardens in 2012

Last Updated: September 24, 2019

First visit: May 2012
My Country #23

In 2012, I had the chance to visit Singapore for the first time, together with Mike. Singapore, small as it is, has definitely a lot to offer to it's tourists. From the beautiful skyline to its theme parks and waterfront promenade, to it's luxurious shopping malls and more, there's surely something for everyone. My future travel plans do not include returning to the Lion City just yet so I definitely have to do some catching up the next time I'm here. In case you are traveling to Singapore, here are some of my travel tips.

Marina Bay: For me, there's nothing more representative of Singapore than the Marina Bay area.

Waterfront Promenade

Singapore Flyer

The Merlion Park: When I was little, I remember thinking of Singapore and associating it to the Merlion (which I think most of us did)

Staying at the Marina Bay Sands: Room rates are really expensive but if you can afford it, why not stay in this iconic hotel and enjoy fantastic views of the city from it's rooftop infinity pool the way we did 😉

HSBC Rain Vortex at Jewel

Spectra, a light and water show in front of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel

Gardens by The Bay

Shopping: There's nothing like doing your shopping in Singapore, as there are lots of malls here considering how small the country is.

Singapore Skyline: Another reason why we stayed at the Marina Bay Sands aside from it's infinity pool was that from there, you get fantastic views of the Singapore skyline 😉

Universal Studios Singapore: If you are already in Singapore, why not spend a day in the Universal Studios? It will definitely be worth it.

Orchard Road: As the retail and entertainment hub of Singapore, you will surely don't wanna miss this boulevard.

China Town

Singapore River Cruise: This is definitely one of the coolest ways to discover the city 😉

Fountain of Wealth: Definitely not to be missed is the light show in the evening.

Singapore Botanical Gardens

Kampong Glam, the Malay-Muslim quarter in Singapore

Resorts World Sentosa

Taking public transportation
