SAS business class, Rome to Stockholm
Flight: SK1842
Departure time in Rome (FCO): 14:10
Arrival time in Stockholm (ARN): 17:25
Aircraft: Boeing 737-800
Seat: 2D
Duration: 3h 15m
Date of flight: October 5, 2013
* This is an award travel, Business Class flight #28
VIP Lounge
SAS uses the VIP Lounge, a pretty basic lounge probably not as good as the lounge Lufthansa and SWISS are using, which is located a few meters away.
Boarding, Gate D10
Boarding started 10 minutes after the scheduled time. Unfortunately, there was no priority boarding so we there was a little chaos there.
Business Class Cabin
The business class cabin has a 3-3 configuration with the middle seat left vacant. Five of the ten seats were occupied that day.
Seat 2D
Coat hook and tray table.
Seat pocket with inflight magazine and safety card
There was no personal screen which is normal when flying intra-Europe.
From where I was seated, I was able to saw that our luggage were set aside to make sure they were the ones to be out first when we collect our luggage in Arlanda. Cool 👍
Dining
A glass of apple juice
The main course consisted of beef with potatoes and mixed vegetables. It actually tasted very good 😋
After enjoying the main course, I ordered a cup of tea.
Lavatory
Lavatory
CONCLUSION
It was our first time to fly in SAS business class and it turned out just fine. And to think that business class within Europe is now gone as they only have SAS Go and SAS Plus, so we actually got lucky to experience the last business class service. The positive things were the fast track, the good food and service. The not so good ones were no priority boarding and the lounge which could have been better. Overall, I would rate this flight a 7 out of 10. Till next time, SAS. Tack och hej då 😉
