Exploring Venice

View of Santa Maria della Salute, Venice

Last week, Mike and I went to Venice and spent a few days exploring the city known as the "City of Canals" and "City of Masks" among others. It was a dream come true being able to visit Saint Mark´s Basilica, Piazza San Marco and of course watching the people enjoy their gondola ride (we didn´t try it ourselves). There were churches, canals and squares everywhere and the restaurants were always full of tourists enjoying Italian cuisine (the pizzas and the pastas). In case you are traveling to Venice in the future, here are some of my travel tips.

Saint Mark´s Square: Don´t miss the famous Caffe Florian.

Saint Mark´s Clock Tower: We were able to witness the ringing of the bells at 12noon and it was really cool 😉

Doge´s Palace: Cost is 20 Euro and includes entrance to other museums in Saint Mark´s Square like the Museo Correr and the National Archeological Museum.
